King George Basketball Academy is being developed as a year-round high-performance basketball programme for student-athletes in Metro Manila. The Academy combines basketball development, athletic performance, competitive team play, film study and player evaluation within one consistent programme.
The objective is to give athletes access to a standard of preparation informed by NCAA Division I basketball while creating clearer connections to schools, universities and higher levels of the game when the athlete is ready.

Basketball is embedded in daily life across the Philippines, and Metro Manila produces a large number of committed young players every year. What is less available is a programme that carries those players through a full season of coaching, competition and evaluation rather than a series of camps.
Basketball talent develops through repeated exposure to good coaching, meaningful competition and honest evaluation. The Academy is being built to provide those elements consistently throughout the year, in an environment where players can train seriously, compete as part of a team, learn through film and understand how their current game compares with the standards expected at higher levels.

“My mission is to create a high-performance environment for the right athletes right here in Manila. The coaching, the competition and the honesty of the feedback have to match the level those players are trying to reach. That is the standard I have worked to my whole career, and it is the one we are bringing to this city.”

George Aramide has spent two decades working across player development, collegiate basketball and the professional game.
After developing as a player in Canada, George played professionally in Spain. He later built a player-development pipeline that helped more than 60 athletes earn full university scholarships before moving into NCAA Division I coaching.
George worked at Arizona State University, Fresno State University and Robert Morris University. During his time at Robert Morris, the programme won the 2025 Horizon League championship.
Players George has coached and developed have progressed to the NBA, NCAA Division I basketball and professional leagues across Europe.
At King George Basketball Academy, George is responsible for the basketball programme. He sets coaching standards, oversees player development and evaluation, directs competition and supports pathway relationships when athletes are ready to pursue opportunities beyond the Academy.
George’s coaching and development career has included athletes who later competed in the NBA, NCAA Division I basketball and professional leagues across Europe. More than 60 athletes from his development pipeline have earned full university scholarships.
